TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Booking

  • On receipt of a satisfactory and signed Client profile form together with proof of vaccination your registration will be confirmed.

  • Start date of regular walks and booking dates will be confirmed in writing.

  • Service is charged as stated on our pricing page which can be found on our website.

  • Weekends and Bank Holidays must be booked separately to regular slots and at least 24 hours in advance on a first come first served basis and are charged at an additional rate which can be found on our website’s pricing page.

  • Paid advance bookings are a clients way of reserving the required service.

  • All bookings must be made at least 24 hours in advance provided slots are available, exception only by mutual agreement.

  • Bookings not paid 24 hours in advance, unless otherwise agreed, will mean termination of the booking.

  • Owing to our own family and holiday commitments any booking is only to be presumed 100% confirmed 3 months prior to your proposed booking date, although we endeavour to give advance notice of any possible blackout periods.

  • We do not accept dogs registered under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.

  • We do not accept dog hybrids registered under the Dangerous Wild Animals Act 1976.

Payments

  • Dogs Love Walkies accepts cash/cheque/BACS transfer. Any cheques which do not clear, will be subject to an additional £10 administration fee. Please let us know if you wish to pay via bank transfer and we will provide our banking information.

  • Bookings must be paid 24 hours in advance for one off bookings, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • Regular client bookings can be paid weekly at the end of each week, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Cancellations

  • All bookings made with Dogs Love Walkies, under these Terms & Conditions are subject to and acceptance of our Cancellation Policy.

  • Any cancellation must be provided in writing at the earliest opportunity, either by letter, email or text direct to Dogs Love Walkies and confirmed as received.

  • If a customer cancels a booking within 48 hours of a booking date, 100% of the service fee is due and if already paid will not be refunded.

  • For a cancellation over 48 hours prior to the start of the booking a full refund will be provided.

  • We will reimburse you using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise.

  • The Consumer Rights Act 2015 means you have a right to cancel a contract and our policy attempts to be fair and transparent to our customers.

Aggressive Animals.

  • Dogs Love Walkies will not accept aggressive or anti-social dogs under any circumstance.

  • The client agrees to be responsible for all costs (including but not limited to medical care, legal fees, etc) if the client’s dog should bite another animal.

  • The Client agrees that on booking services for their dog that they have represented that the dog has not shown aggression or caused harm, or threatening behaviour to any individual and/or any pet(s), and the client agrees to contact Dogs Love Walkies as soon as possible if any of these behavioural changes presents itself or if it has the potential to cause harm to any individual or pet(s).

  • If the client’s dog whilst being walked shows aggressive tendencies towards any person, dog or other animal, or should its behaviour become unacceptable beyond reasonable acceptance, the client agrees that he/she will collect their dog as soon as possible or the dog will be placed either with the emergency contact or taken to the nearest vets or dog warden until the client returns. Any fees incurred will be the client’s responsibility.

Updates

  • Please inform us of any changes regarding your contact numbers, your pet’s care needs, your emergency contact details and other pertinent information as soon as possible.

Insurance

  • All reasonable care is taken to ensure the highest standards of care are provided.

  • Dogs Love Walkies has valid public liability insurance, for the peace of mind of its clients.

  • Dogs Love Walkies is insured with Protectivity Insurance to provide dog walking services.

  • A copy of our insurance policy can be provided upon request.

  • We recommend that you purchase your own separate pet insurance to assist with any emergency veterinary treatment, should the unexpected happen.

Medication/Vaccinations.

  • Dogs Love Walkies will follow instructions to administer medications as directed after a walk but cannot be held responsible for complications that arise as a result. Any medications given will be documented.

  • Under no circumstances will Dogs Love Walkies walk any dog that has any form of active contagious illness and you undertake to advise us prior to any service if you observe or become aware of any change in your pet’s behaviour, welfare or demeanour.

  • We require proof of a valid vaccination certificate. There are no exceptions to this requirement and proof will be required yearly.

Collars/Leads

  • Please provide secure collars/harnesses for all walks.

  • Required restraints such as muzzles must be provided by the client and be well fitting and secure.

  • Dogs must have ID tags securely attached to their collar/harness.

  • Relevant leads needed for walks stated in the client profile form will be provided by Dogs Love Walkies.

Emergency Contact

  • Emergency contact details must be provided on your client profile form should a situation with your dog arise and you are unavailable.

  • The emergency contact needs to be an independent person and authorised to make a decision on your behalf if you are uncontactable.

  • The emergency contact will be contacted if the client is uncontactable and must be able to collect your dog. Any costs associated with alternative arrangements should the emergency contact be unable to collect your dog will be at your expense.

Liability

Dogs Love Walkies shall not be liable to the client or be deemed to be in breach of the contract by reason of any delay in performing, or any failure to perform, any of its obligations in relation to the services, if the delay or failure was due to any cause beyond Dogs Love Walkies reasonable control.

Extreme weather

  • We reserve the right to cancel or shorten walks accordingly due to extreme weather.

  • Walks cancelled due to extreme weather will be rescheduled or refunded in full.

  • Thunder and lightning can be frightening to some dogs so this might delay the start or cut short the duration of the walk.

  • Black ice or extreme snow which impedes travel and makes travel too risky may mean we need to cancel or delay a walk in this circumstance.

  • Should we experience heatwave conditions, both dogs and humans are at risk of collapse from heat exhaustion. In this situation, consideration and care would be taken all round, and the walk cancelled or shortened where needed.

  • It is important to remember that a dog has never died from missing a walk but can die from heatstroke and heat exhaustion.

Changes

  • Please note our Terms & Conditions and our Cancellation Policy may change at any time. The most recent versions are provided on our website. However, in the event of any change that might impact an existing booking of our Terms & Conditions or Cancellation Policy, we will provide such a customer with a minimum of 7 days prior notification in writing.
